So tonight the OAE (orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment) played a concert that they dedicated to my mum, who played with them for 25 years. She was an incredible musician, and adored playing music, and it meant a lot to see her being remembered for that. It was surreal to see people in the audience reading the dedication page!
My wife, my best friend and her boyfriend came to watch it with me, and it meant a lot to have that support, but actually I was just happy to be back watching classical music. I grew up around that, the sound of a tuning orchestra was the first sound I remember hearing. It was beautiful, and Sarah Connelly was amazing as always.
