Hello! Welcome to 365 days of fear. We are Freya and Hannah, a married couple from the UK, and we’re taking on this challenge for 2017 in memory of Freya’s mother, who passed away January 2016.

Freya: “Mental illness meant that the last year or so of her life, she was scared. Now, to counteract the sadness I have when I remember that, I want to do things that scare me, one a day (a big feat, but I tend to bite off more than I can chew!) to not only push myself to do more with my life, but to remember her in the best way I can think of. My wife, the driving force behind a lot of my decisions (sensible and crazy) will be joining me, and I know that through it all mum would be a) telling us we were crazy and b) watching from the sidelines at everything we did, and with that knowledge I hope I could succeed in completing 365 terrifying things with my 2017.”

So why are we doing this?

  1. To prove that we can!
  2. To get out of our comfort zones
  3. To prove that fear won’t hold us back
  4. Because we want to raise courageous children in the future
  5. To make our days less mundane
  6. To live life to the full

We know we won’t manage to do something every day that is as extreme as jumping out of a plane, but this project is more about getting out of our comfort zone and getting off the sofa! Some days we know it won’t be manageable- but somedays the scariest thing you can do is getting out of bed.

All money we make this year from fundraising will go to Mind, a UK charity which supports those with mental illnesses. We have a justgiving account, and all the money we do raise we hope can go towards helping people feel a little less scared of life, and a little more excited.

Wish us luck!
